Five Day Residential Psychodrama Training Workshop with Max Clayton assisted by Elizabeth Synnot
Introduction
The purpose of this five-day intensive training workshop is to train in psychodrama, sociodrama, sociometry, role training and general group work. It is designed to bring about a greater ability to practice the psychodramatic method whether in a psychodrama therapy or growth group, in community groups, in individual counselling and psychotherapy, in education, staff training, or in pastoral care and to function in a leadership capacity in groups and organizations.
The workshop is for beginning, intermediate and advanced trainees and is designed as training for those working as teachers, trainers in organizations, nurses, physicians, psychiatrists, social workers, counsellors, clergy, occupational therapists, marriage and family counsellors, and community workers. Those attending come from Australia, New Zealand and other parts of the world.
Learning Outcomes and Process
Those who attend will experience a wide range of concerns emerging in group sessions. There will be a greater development of new ways of functioning as psychodrama directors, role trainers, auxiliaries, group leaders and group members, as a result of contacting other aspects of the self and through supervised practice.
Trainees may expect to to direct psychodrama and role training sessions and to learn a considerable amount of psychodrama theory and practice. The emphasis is on supervised experiential learning, producing, and integration of theory and practice, leading to more satisfaction in professional functioning and personal living.
Leaders
Dr Max Clayton is responsible for the overall direction of the training sessions and will be supervising and teaching. He is a Psychodramatist Trainer, Educator and Practitioner. He has been responsible for much of the development of psychodrama in Australia and New Zealand. For the past thirty-seven years he has been conducting training workshops and seminars in psychodrama, sociometry, role training and group work and has been actively involved in supervision of trainees and professional people in Australia and New Zealand, Japan, and Europe.
Dates & Times
Commences: 10 am Wednesday 13th October, 2010
Concludes: 4.00 pm Sunday 17th October, 2010
There will be two three-hour sessions and one two-hour session daily, 10 a.m.-9.30 p.m., and two sessions on the last day, with meal and recreation breaks.
Venue
Mercy Place Conference and Retreat Centre, 370 Simpsons Road, Bardon, Brisbane.
Transport
$60 - $70 from the airport. Alternative is to catch the train from the airport to Roma Street station ($15) and then by taxi to the Centre($35 - $45). Where possible, a fellow participant will collect you from the airport. A timely request will assist this arrangement.
Fee
$1,400 including GST. as this is a residential workshop please add your choice of fee for accommodation as follows: $160 single, $120 twin share, $100 triple share. Note: all bathroom facilities are share facilities.
